Let’s talk about the weather
Researchers are always looking to grow new British apple varieties that consumers will love. But whilst science plays an important role, one of the main factors responsible for the outstanding taste and quality of our British apples is our climate.

Although we spend a lot of time complaining about the weather, our fruit thrives in the maritime climate which provides unique growing conditions.
The absence of extreme temperatures but adequate rainfall allows our apples to grow slowly and develop their full flavour potential, meaning they taste better than apples from anywhere else in the world, every year.
